Two
Crashes And A Near Disaster
We started out with Jacques Daniel slipping on his cleats before
we even started and falling down while just sitting on his bike
in the parking lot. Then while descending Occidental road
at a fast pace, a pickup started to pull-out from Mill Station Road
right in front of John Jackson, Richard Winegarner and Tom Davis.
It could have been a serious situation had he not stopped and the
three riders veering in all directions to avoid a possible crash.
Luckily, no one was hit, but the adrenaline was definetely flowing.
Then Vicki ran over a small branch and hit the pavement while pulling
into the Willowside School parking lot. She was OK after dusting
herself off. That's why you ALWAYS wear your helmet, because
strange things can happen instantly.
Overall it was a great ride, nice weather and 12 riders.
Jacques, Tom, Craig Combes, Richard Winegarner, Wendy Page, Vicki
& Tom, John from Kendall-Jackson, Ron from West Coast Cycling,
Jon, Susan and John Jackson, our leader back from the SRCC Tour.
