| Our Mission The purpose of the Velo Avanti Cycling Team is to promote amateur bicycle racing competition in Southern California and foster a club atmosphere for members who enjoy cycling as a recreational pursuit. LONG TERM (3 TO 5 YEARS) GOALS 1. Promote the organization/sponsorship of bicycle races at the club level. 2. Support the expansion and development of amateur bicycle racing clubs/teams. 3. Make bicycle racing and cycling in general a sport that is both fun and builds camaraderie. SHORT TERM (1 YEAR) OBJECTIVES 1. Host at least one amateur bicycle racing event a year. 2. Organize a regular team ride that departs from a central location and meets the needs of members at different levels. 3. Increase the team's membership size by developing a club that is: fun to belong to, has club oriented activities, and encourages camaraderie. |
