Bike And Bird: Arrowhead Marsh--Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline
Sunday, January 28, 2018
1/L/~14 Leader: Pat Greene email@example.com (415) 481-5469 Meet at 9:00 am Start Location: Coliseum BART Meet near the ticket machines. BART trains arrive at 8:47 or 8:52 depending on your origin; drivers should allow time to park and join the BART riders by train arrival time. We will cycle to Arrowhead Marsh where high tide occurs at 8:45 AM. We will look for wintering ducks and shorebirds, and hope for rails at Arrowhead. Then we'll bird the Shoreline over to Alameda. Bring Lunch. Depending on timing, we will stop for lunch/snack at Shoreline Center along the trail or at the Elsie Roemer Sanctuary on Alameda. From Elsie Roemer there is a short, direct route to Fruitvale BART (or cycle back to Coliseum BART). Bring binoculars; wear warm layered clothes and helmets. This birding ride is co-listed with Golden Gate Audbon, with co-leader Cathy Bleier. Rain Cancels; if the weather forecast is questionable, send your e-mail address to Pat the night before to receive news on the status of the ride in the morning (firstname.lastname@example.org).
